This image is of Broad St. Academy. This school was founded in 1887 as the first public high school for Black students in Mobile, Alabama. It was located at 207 North Broad Street. William A. Caldwell was the first principal and Georgia V. Williams was the first assistant principal. Josephine Allen graduated from this institution in 1891.
