Photograph taken looking north from Hamilton Street at Courtland Street in Baltimore, Maryland. Parked on both sides of the street are horse-drawn wagons and carriages, several of which appear to be cabs. In the right foreground is an African American worker who appears to be standing on the loading dock of one building, assisting the driver of the wagon. Editor's note: Although comments on the back of this photograph claim this is Courtland Street itself, this appears to be an alley. Perhaps what is meant is that this is the alley behind the houses on Courtland Street (right).
