Description
Leimert Park was initially developed by Walter H. "Tim" Leimert in 1928 and was later designed by the Olmsted brothers. It was one of the first communities in Southern California designed for low-middle income families, and set the standard for urban planning during its time. As a triving cultural center, Leimert Park is now considered the center of the African-American arts scene in Los Angeles. The community's location in relation to downtown is indicated by the presence of City Hall, which is visible in the background.View of the community of Leimert Park from a street in View Park-Windsor Hills.
