Description

This record is an “abstract of expenditures on account of the Quartermaster’s Department” by Captain E. G. Bradley, assistant quartermaster, 19th Alabama Infantry Regiment, in the quarter ending September 30, 1862, at an unspecified location. It shows payments for services, supplies, and wages to various persons. E. Abbott (owner’s agent) was paid for “hire of negroes” whose names are not indicated. Other white persons listed include M. M. Israel, A. M. Gibson, R. H. Hagood, W. H. Adrine, J. B. Foster, E. T. Vest, A. M. Elliott, G. W. McGown, Robert Canville, Richard Hillsman, James L. Dye, M. H. Crinshank, James Isbel, William Edmond, Lt. Col. Tracey, A. O. Lowe, Joseph Simpson, and unnamed “extra duty men.”
