Description

Jazz photographer Bob Douglas, who began photographing in the local clubs in Detroit. In 1948 he moved to Los Angeles and photographed the Los Angeles jazz scene including the historic Central Avenue clubs. He also worked as a photographer for the Los Angeles Edition of the Pittsburgh Courier, the California Eagle and the Los Angeles Sentinel. He has immortalized jazz greats such as Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson and Charlie Parker. He has been exhibited widely.
