Description
A photograph of a performance given by the Nashville Symphony for students of Pearl and Haynes High Schools at Pearl on Dec. 10, 1951. Students from Pearl and Haynes packed the auditorium for one of the final 1951 Student Concerts by the Nashville Symphony sponsored by the Nashville Banner and the American Federation of Musicians. Nearly 1,400 students heard the concert. Conductor Guy Taylor first introduced students to the different groupings of instruments and then showed how the various groups are combined to make music. The concerts were part of the Banner's 75th anniversary celebration. Forms part of the Nashville Banner Archives. 1 photograph negative : b & w ; 3.25 x 4.25 in.
