Operation Exodus
Description
Donated by Muriel S. And Otto P. Snowden. This press release from Operation Exodus explains the issues they see at Martin Luther King School. The school had been central to conflict between the School Committee and the black community in the mid-1960s and it came to a head in 1967-1968. Around that time, a community leader, Guido St. Laurent and two staff members at his office were assassinated, and it set off calls for MLK School to be taken over by the community.
