Typed copy of letter.William Lloyd Garrison writes that thoroughgoing abolitionists do not support the Colonization Society; Arthur Tappan has left it. A college for colored students in New Haven is being contemplated. The American Anti-Slavery Society is forming in Philadelphia. Evan Lewis's tract won the prize donated by Ebenezer Dole.The passages reprinted in the July 16, 1831, issue of the Liberator are indicated in the margins.
