Photograph of the Ray Charles Plaza, which was unveiled in December 2007 in Albany, Georgia. A bronze statue of Charles sitting at a grand piano sits atop a circular marble base. This monument stands on the bank of the Flint River in downtown Albany. The statue commemorates the legacy of musician Ray Charles, who was born in Albany in 1930.
