Description
A letter of introduction for Samuel Barney, living in Salem, Massachusetts. Barney is "of the Mandingo nation" and is believed by John Pickering to be a possible interpreter for the Amistad Captives after testing him with vocabulary from a volume of Rene Caillie's travel narratives.
