Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Legacy catalog card identifies the date of publication as "1859 March 9."Legacy catalog card identifies the place of publication as "New York."Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper with a small checkmark drawn in pencil in the head- spine corner. Below the salutation, the number "29" is also recorded in pencil. Page 4 is the first page of the circular advertising the subscription, which then continues on page 3.Samuel Edmund Sewall writes to William Lloyd Garrison asking him to include the attached circular (printed on page 3 and 4), advertising a subscription to help publish and distribute the book "The Impending Crisis of the South: How to Meet It" by Hinton Rowan Helper, in the Liberator. Sewall states that "the extensive circulation of the his book on the place proposed cannot fail to do good."
