Description
Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.James Miller M'Kim writes Richard D. Webb at the bequest of Samuel May concerning an order placed for copies of Webb's "John Brown", requesting that the number of copies ordered be modified based upon information conveyed in Webb's most recent letter. M'Kim criticizes the commentary concerning the Civil War from England, particularly that of Harriet Martineau, and asserts that such "patronising lectures and dogmatical declarations" have been largely ignored by the American public.
