Description

Holograph, signedRichard Davis Webb begins this letter with a reply to Maria Weston Chapman's request for certain anti-slavery books. He mentions his correspondence with the Weston sisters. He reports the customs duties on merchandise for the Anti-Slavery Bazaar and regrets their excessive amount. He gives his impression of Miss M. (Harriet Martineau?). Richard Davis Webb says that a French speaking person would have difficulty in getting work in Ireland in a response to a request for information on this matter. Webb hopes that the Advocate can be kept going. He says that the printing is not very profitable. Webb writes: "My girls are doing very well at Miss Reid's College..."
