Addressed from 5 Hamilton Place, King's Cross, London.Addressed to "Office of the Liberator, No 21, Cornhill, Boston."Holograph, signed.Title supplied by cataloger.Hutton complains about an article in "The Liberator" of December 31, 1847 in which Reverend George Edward Ellis says that the English are stirring up trouble in the U.S. over the slavery issue. Hutton also cannot see why the Ellis article was treated as a pro-slavery article, nor why the acting editor designated Ellis as a "hater of God and man." He agrees with Ellis that "the liberty granted to [the slave] ought to be something more than liberty to go where he will, and starve."
