Lauro "Nick" Pacheco, Jr. is an attorney and politician. Born and raised in the community of Boyle Heights, he attended UC Berkley as well as Loyola Law School. Mr. Pacheco served as Deputy District Attorney from 1995-1999, and was a City Councilman for the 14th District from 1999-2003. Councilwoman Perry represents the 9th District; she spent five years as Chief of Staff for the 9th District prior to being elected to serve as its representative. Re-elected in January of 2006 by the Western cities to serve another 4-year term, she also serves as the Assistant Pro Tempore for the Los Angeles City Council, making her the first African-American woman to hold this position in the history of the city.Humorous photo of former Councilman Nick Pacheco, being choked by Councilwoman Jan Perry, outside the Omni Hotel at the Central City Association Party in Downtown.
