Carmichael's arrest and release were discussed in the article "'For the People of Prattville'" by Sandra Colvin and Franklin Howard, which appeared on pages 1 and 6 of The Southern Courier for June 17-18, 1967; this image was used in the article "Houser, City Ask Rulings" by Michael S. Lottman, which appeared on page 1 of The Southern Courier for October 28-29, 1967.
