Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Henry Clarke Wright writes to William Lloyd Garrison about the future of the American Anti-Slavery Society, stating, "My vote is for the dissolution of the American Anti-Slavery Society & the winding up of all its affairs at its Anniversary in May." He asks Garrison to pass on his vote to the Committee, saying his reasons are "not necessary to give" but he will share them at the Anniversary, if necessary. He then argues that while he feels "sad at the thought of disbanding that society ... it is fitting that as Slavery dies, the A[nti] S[lavery] Society as such should die with it".
