Description

The majority of the documents in this folder are SCEF-related reports about organizing white adults and students into the freedom movement. There's Patricia Stephens Due's report on civil rights activities in Florida in 1963. There's a report to SCEF by John Robert Zellner on his indefatigable efforts to organize white southern college students in 1961-1962 and on his attempts to find legal representation for himself, stemming from his arrest in McComb, Mississippi, during a demonstration. There's also a draft of an article on the same subject by Zellner, written for the Southern Patriot. SCEF's plans for work in 1963, including Anne Braden's account of her own SCEF-related activities, are other reports in this folder. There's a report from Rick Stevens to James Forman on trying to persuade students at three integrated Georgia college campuses to join or support SNCC, and a "Prospectus for Atlanta for the White Southern Student Movement."
