Description

Mrs. Welika Goodman, a student, trains at the Portland Beauty Academy. Since 1951, when the Oregon legislature enacted a law prohibiting discrimination in vocational and professional schools, non-white students enrolled in all types of vocational schools. An Urban League photo.The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
