Bill of sale from Charles T. Miles to John P. Darden for a slave girl named Caroline.Know all men by these present that I Charles T. Miles have this day, for & in consideration of the sum of six hundred Dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, bargained sold & delivered and by these present do bargain sell & deliver to John P. Darden a certain negro girl, by name Caroline, which said negro I warrant sound in body & mind & a slave for life, and I warrant & defend the title to said negro girl to him the said Darden, his heirs, executors or, administrators, against all claims whatsoever. Given under my hand & seal, this the 10th day of Feby A.D. 1846 C. T. Miles {L.S.}
