Phelps, Lewis Tappan asks Phelps to ́call upon whatever [Tappan] can to make [Phelps] comfortable.́ Tappan says anything Phelps writes about missions or antislavery matters will be acceptable for publishing. He also informs Phelps that Professor Hudson has been elected Corresponding Secretary of the Executive Committee of the American and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society
