Assemblymember Holden is a life long resident of Pasadena, where he owns the real estate firm CHMB Consulting. He became the youngest Pasadena City Councilmember at the age of 28, serving for 23 years, including three years as mayor from 1997 to 1999. While on the city council, Assemblymember Holden served as a Commissioner and President of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority and on the Pasadena Light Rail Alignment Task Force. In 2012, Assemblymember Holden was elected to the California State Assembly to represent District 41, which stretches from Pasadena in the West to Upland in the East and includes the communities of Altadena, Claremont, La Verne, Monrovia, Rancho Cucamonga, San Dimas, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena. He was overwhelmingly re-elected in 2014 and was appointed as Assembly Majority Floor Leader and is currently serving on the Appropriations, Business & Professions, Judiciary and Local Government Committees. He was also appointed Chair of the Select Committee on regional Transportation and Interconnectivity Solutions and sits on the Governing board of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy (California State Assembly Democratic Caucus, 2015).
