Description

The Wing Commander congratulates Major James Randall (1926-2019) after his first solo check-out flight in the F-105 at McConnel AFB Witchita, Kansas. Randall was a member of the 562nd TAC Fighter Squadron and Ops Officer at McConnell from 1964-1966. There he was asked to prepare a "butcher paper" briefing for every member of the squadron of nearly 500 people. Since it was such a voluminous project, the Wing Commander offered Randall an incentive. - the opportunity to check out in the F-111 at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada upon successful completion of the mission. James Randall's next assignment: Nellis AFB.
