Description
A photograph of Olivet Missionary Baptist Church located at 1811 Charlotte Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee. Over the years the church has been known as both Olivet Missionary Baptist and Olivet Baptist. The congregation is historically African American. The foundation is made of cinder block. The exterior walls are brick. The roof is asphalt shingle. The windows have metal frames and colored glass panes. The side doors are metal. The front door is plate glass. In 1994 the church held a dedication ceremony for the Whiteside-Parks Family Enrichment Center building adjacent to the church. The center was the first African American Baptist church facility in Nashville established specifically for the purpose of enriching family life. Forms part of the Historic Nashville, Inc.
