Description

Holograph, signed with initials. The Executive Committee meeting was held today to dicuss the question of the future of the National Anti-Slavery Standard. It was voted to raise the funds necessary for its continuance. Paid subscribers to the Anti-Slavery Bugle will be supplied with the Standard. William Lloyd Garrison trusts that Oliver Johnson will stay on as editor until a competent successor is found. There has been some criticism of the appearance of the American flag in the Standard. It should be withdrawn.Merrill, Walter M. Letters of William Lloyd Garrison, v.5, no.7.
