Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on blue, lined paper with an embossed oval logo in the head- spine corner. Above the salutation, the number "103" is written in pencil. On the verso, along the spine edge, the phrase "Hopeful Toler Sept. 21 1846." has been written in ink, vertically, facing the fore edge of the page.Cataloged sgellermanIn this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Hopeful Toler asks Phelps not to take Ann to Connecticut with him. Instead, he asks Phelps to leave her in Philadelphia with an old friend.
