Description

Portrait photograph of Horace Julian Bond in a keyhole frame. From 1965 to 1975, Bond served in the Georgia House and served six terms in the Georgia Senate from 1975-86. He was also the first African-American to be nominated vice-president, helped found the Southern Poverty Law Center, served as Chair of the NAACP, and was an active supporter of the American Civil Rights Movement.
