Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger. In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Lewis Tappan says he agrees with Phelps about Charles T. Torrey, except that he thinks Torrey should have abided by the process of the Courts. He says all the copies Phelps had sent to the “Reporter” will be published except for the article about Torrey. He then discusses some donations collected for missionary works, and letters he received about the position of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions on slavery.
