Letter from James C. Pass written from Reedy Fork, N.C. to his dearest, likely his wife Mary Franklin Pass of Faison, N.C. Of note is Pass' opinion of Negroes and their potential military service in the Confederate Army if a proposed bill is passed in North Carolina. Pass also discusses possible job opportunities as a bookkeeper or conscripting to the army to be a clerk if he is discharged after meeting with the medical board. Pass also discusses family matters.
