Description

Six unidentified African American women and one unidentified African American man stand posed holding jars of preserves. The slogan Food for Victory (seen on the sign in the bottom right corner) was used for the nation's Victory Garden program during World War II. Over 20 million Victory Gardens were grown by Americans all over the country to enusre that both soldiers and civilians would have enough fruits and vegetables during the war.
