Photograph of actress Hattie McDaniel and her husband, Lloyd Crawford, on the couple's wedding day. McDaniel was one of the best-known African-American actresses of her era. She won a Best Supporting Actress award for her portrayal of Mammy in the film "Gone With the Wind," the first African-American to win this award.
