Description

John LeFlore spent fifty years as a community leader and civil rights activist. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, in 1903, and began employment as a postal worker in 1922. He was deeply involved in the struggle for voting rights and desegregation, and would serve one year in the Alabama legislature before his death in 1976.
