In the left foreground is an African American man walking toward the camera, preparing to cross Pennsylvania Avenue. Behind him is an African American man standing at and peering into the open doorway of a garage. Farther behind him is an African America woman walking away down the sidewalk. Farther still are several African American men standing on the sidewalk next to a small truck and talking. In the right foreground at the corner is a store with a Beech-Nut Chewing Tobacco sign on its outside wall. Cars and street lamps are situated on both sides of Oxford Street.
