Description

Photograph of the exterior of the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Building in Atlanta, Georgia (1931-33; Alfredo Barili Jr. and W. Humphreys, associate architects). This is considered architect A. Ten Eyck Brown's finest work of the 1930s, and it was the largest construction project in the city at the lowest ebb of the depression. The stripped Classical-style granite structure features a tiered setback design. It was originally built as the Federal Post Office Annex, and it is now the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Building.
