Description

Holograph, signedSamuel Joseph May presumably wrote this letter to Caroline Weston. May doesn't feel as enthusiastic about Florence as he did about Rome. He mentions a ride he took with Caroline Weston in Rome. He tells about his journey from Rome to Florence. "At Arezzo we received tidings of the Revolution in Tuscany," which May briefly describes. May has been gratified to read the "testimonials to the excellence of Miss Remond's lectures." He was very sorry "to learn that the Personal Liberty Bill has failed in the New York and the Massachusetts Legislatures."Includes envelope
