Description

Nina Revoyr discusses her novel, “Wingshooters.” She begins by explaining that her book is about a Japanese American girl who grows up in a rural town in Wisconsin. She talks about the joys and restrictions of living in a small town. She describes that a ‘wingshooter’ is another name for someone who hunts birds. She talks about her influences for writing this book. Revoyr describes the differences between people living in the Midwest versus the West Coast. Martinson asks Revoyr to read a passage about a girl playing baseball with her grandfather. She ends the interview by talking about her writing process for this novel, and what she is working on next.
