Lane Brothers Commercial Photographers

Description

One in a series of photographs of bank employees taken in 1955, this negative is marked "Mamie [sic] Baugh" in pencil along the right side. The Lane Brothers negative envelope (LBP05-119) is inscribed, "Fulton Nat. Bank, Personnel, Mamie [sic] Bough [sic]." This is the only negative in the envelope. A closely cropped version of this negative appeared in "Bank Notes: The Annual Photo Issue, published and printed monthly by and for employees of the Fulton National Bank of Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia (December 16, 1955), in the African-American section at the end of the publication, with the caption, "Manie Baugh, School Savings." A copy of this special issue featuring many photographs by the Lane Brothers is in the Lane Brothers Collection (LBDOCS28). Manie Baugh's husband Howard (1915-2007) was one of Atlanta's first African-American police officers.Lane Brothers Commercial Photographers Photographic Collection, 1920-1976.
