Encyclopedia article about Curtis Mayfield, a founding member of the Impressions and a successful solo musician. His music publishing business, Curtom, moved from Chicago to Atlanta in 1980. Mayfield was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, the Soul Train Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
