Description

This folder contains affidavits from civil rights workers in Mississippi detailing various incidents that occurred in the summer of 1964. Included are descriptions of attempts by freedom school students to integrate the Hattiesburg public library, numerous accounts of arrests, harassment, police brutality, beatings, shootings, bombings, arson, and unsuccessful attempts by African Americans to register to vote.
