Description

Photograph of Cloney Street at its intersection with Amity Street in Baltimore, Maryland. This area (known as Area 14) was scheduled to be demolished as part of the Baltimore Housing Authority's slum clearance program. In the ground floor window of the building to the left (across intersection) is a sign indicating times for services for a storefront Baptist church. Standing in the middle of Cloney Street, which dead ends in the rear of the houses on Poppleton Street, is an African American boy waving his arm. Electric lines cross over Cloney Street, where they turn at the rear of Poppleton Street.
