The Excelsior Band, Inc.
Description
The Excelsior Band was founded in 1883 by John A. Pope. It has since become synonymous with Mobile, Alabama's, Mardi Gras celebrations. In this photo from around 1940 the band is marching down the street during a Mardi Gras parade.
