Gadson describes aspects of the culture of the Sea Islands including language (Gullah), land ownership (heirs property), and religion (praise houses). In Beaufort, South Carolina, Mrs. Agnes C. Sherman, curator of the "York W. Bailey Museum" at Penn Community Services Center, is interviewed. She discusses the foundation of the Penn School and its development as the first black industrial training (trade) school. More of Gadson interview. He speaks of the importance of the Penn Community Services Center in the development of many civil rights campaigns.
