Description
Continuing construction of the Ancient Rome concession on the Pike at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition -- 1904 World's Fair. The attraction aimed to recreate the classical city with an amphitheater drama ending with Nero's burning of Rome. A separate attraction in the same building reproduced the Hawaiian Kilauea volcano, with the Spirit of Fire, a Hawaiian god, rising from the volcano in a cloud of incense. No. 3808.
