Description
Photograph of Rock Street from its intersection with the 800 block West Lexington Street in Baltimore, Maryland. These two- and three-story row houses were scheduled to be razed in 1939 as part of the Baltimore Housing Authority's slum clearance program. Several African American men and women are walking along both streets. On the right corner is a young African American girl on roller skates. On the left corner, parked at the curb, is a car, and on the wall of the building next to the car is a painted sign advertising Murphy’s Furniture and Carpets. See also mdaa041.
