Holograph, signed with initialsThis is a continuation of Edmund Quincy's letter to Caroline Weston of Sept. 16, 1844, Call No. Ms.A.9.2 v.20, p.61, in which a Milford anti-slavery meeting is described. Edmund Quincy comments on William Lloyd Garrison's conduct of the meeting. He describes the Hopedale community. He praises the Rev. Davis, a Universalist minister. He mentions Mr. & Mrs. Price at Hopedale. Edmund Quincy talks in his sleep and William L. Garrison laughed at something he said. Edmund Quincy talked to Dr. J. G. Palfrey on the train from Worcester to Boston; Palfrey emancipated his slaves. Edmund Quincy heard from Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman that Lucia Weston is doing well. He refers to correspondence with Sydney Howard Gay regarding the printing of National Anti-Slavery Standard extras
