Description

Harold Pugh is standing at the tailgate of the truck, and Lucius Gantt and James "Bubba" Bradley are standing at the far right. Another white man is in the bed of the truck, and an African American man is carrying a large bag of salt toward it. This image was taken for (but not used in) the article and photo spread "'Newtown'--A Community Apart," which appeared on pages 4 and 5 of The Southern Courier for August 26-27, 1967.
