Description

Civil rights activists stand on the corner of Main and Taylor Streets with signs. The State movie theater at 1607 Main Street is visible behind them. They are part of a group of civil rights activists organized by the Youth Movement of the NAACP to protest segregated movie theaters. Twenty-three students were arrested following the day's events.
