Description

Summary "Das jüdische Volk" ("the Jewish people") was the organ of the Staatszionistische Organisation ("State Zionist Organization"), a Revisionist Zionist organization. Revisionist Zionism is a faction of the Zionist movement that began in the 1920s and 1930s with the goal to establish a Jewish state on both sides of the River Jordan (Source: Encyclopaedia Judaica). The first issue of "Das jüdische Volk" seemed like a call to action. The newspaper's editors wrote: "the time has come in which the Jewish people have to step into the fight for freedom. The Jewish people stand at the turning point of their history. They were scattered for 2000 years and are now gathered together in the great fight to break away from slavery and to secure the holy ground in the land of their fathers."
