An aerial view of the Negro State Park area (now T.O. Fuller State Park) looking south, taken over the Mississippi River; elevation is 1,000 feet. The C.C.C. (Civilian Conservation Corps) work camp is seen in upper center of photograph.Named for Dr. Thomas O. Fuller, T.O. Fuller State Park was the first of two state parks in Tennessee open to African Americans during segregation. It was built by an African American unit of the Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.) in 1938.
