Clarkesville, early 1900s. Members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows pose for a photograph at a gathering. Note the men at the far right are members of a band.2003/06/05: According to the "The Sovereign Grand Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows," the Independent Order of Odd Fellows aims to "To Improve and Elevate the Character of Man." The IOOF is a fraternal organization whose goals are based on the Christian Bible. Also known as "The Three Link Fraternity," the IOOF stands for "Friendship, Love and Truth." In 1851, the IOOF adopted the Rebekah Degree, making it the first national fraternal organization to include both men and women.
